BLOGhttp://www.campriversedge.comSat, 19 May 2012 13:37:21 GMTSat, 11 Feb 2012 22:41:29 GMTRivers Edge Before and After Videohttp://www.campriversedge.com/rivers-edge-before-and-after-videoSat, 11 Feb 2012 06:00:00 GMTDeene YenchochicSince purchasing this Pennsylvania campground in 2005, Denise and I, with the help of so many family and friends, have been able to see a true transformation of the River's Edge since that first season.  As we continue to plan every single day to continue to improve every inch of the park, we thought we should reflect on what we have all accomplished so far.  The attached video is a snapshot of many of the improvements over the last seven seasons.  From digging ditches, to painting buildings, to shoveling lots and lots of gravel, to trying not to cry when the floor of the pool was literally floating on top of the water last April, we have been fortunate to have very dedicated and hard workers around us every step of the way.

Over the last seven seasons, we have added five full-service cabins and have upgraded or constructed entirely new sections for full-hook up RV sites.  The tent section--even though covered with flood waters every spring, has also been improved each year. We expanded our kitchen last year to include serving items like hamburgers and grilled chicken sandwiches in addition to the already popular pizza and hand-dipped Hershey's ice cream treats. 

We noticed in the video that we are already changing some of our own early improvements...so, the titles on some images probably should have been, "before, after, and after again".  Our dedicated staff will tell you they are sure that we already have a long list of projects and improvements for the coming Spring.  And, they are correct!  Enjoy the video and our little walk through the park from 2005 to today.  But, be sure to come visit us soon because we are already working on a new set of "before" pictures for the projects scheduled to begin as soon as the weather breaks! 

I'm sure we don't thank our staff, friends and family enough to show just how much they are appreciated, but they truly do believe in our overall vision:  one goal~happy campers!

The 2012 Camping Season is just around the corner!  Really...it is!  Mother Nature has been kind to us so far this Winter.  With just a couple of snow-possible months to go, we are already getting prepared to un-winterize the park and get it ready for Spring!

Go to the Activities page on the website to find the complete listing of weekend events and activities that begin mid-April and run through the middle of October.  Choose your favorite weekends to visit--from Hero's Weekend and Mother's Day in May, to a Buccaneer Bash and Chocolate Fantasy Weekend in June or our popular Wine and Cheese Social or Christmas celebration in July, to the Cinco de Mayo Wing Fest and new Carnival Weekend in August or a variety of fun Fall Festival themed events in September and the ever popular Halloween weekend in October.  You are sure to find a few fun-filled weekends for your family and friends this year!

Merry Christmas 2011!

From our home nestled along the Youghiogheny River and the Great Allegheny Passage to you and yours near and far—Merry Christmas!  What a truly blessed year we have had at River’s Edge Camping and Cabins.  This year provided new construction of RV sites, renovation of some old sites and other areas, a little bit of road paving, and of course—the new pool and addition of the frog!  

We weathered some challenges this year—both personal and business related, but fortunately overcame all obstacles.  With a loving family, supportive friends, a super hard-working staff, and loyal customers, 2011 proved to be yet another year of growth and accomplishment.  Thank you to all who helped make this year a success!

As we look forward to 2012, we are excited to continue to improve every nook and cranny of the park.  Watch this blog in the coming months for updates on what’s in store for the 2012 season!
